It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
